Over the years, I have seen many changes both in the management of Pebble Creek and neighbors who have come and gone... some good and some not so good. I served for ten plus years on the Board and can remember all the challenges and rewards. At the time I served on the Board along with Carl, Larry, etc. Pebble Creek was managed solely by owners who volunteered... a property manager was not hired until years later. We also kept expenses to a minimum so as not to raise dues or have assessments while taking care of our community needs. Of course, time has taken its toll on our condo investments with age. Some long time residents remember Warren who was our resident owner manager who did a remarkable job to everyone's delight, but he moved away years ago.
Back then, we started a number of enjoyable traditions that no longer exist: our residents celebrated the opening of our pool annually with a tennis tournament and pool party enjoyed by all; we also developed a progressive home open house at Christmas of owners to see their decorations, ending with a celebration at the clubhouse with enjoyable holiday goodies (decorated by our Social Committee)... we also placed holiday wreaths at each entrance... there was a large tv at the clubhouse where owners would gather to watch sporting events too... just to name a few of those memories. I do appreciate and acknowledge the present efforts of our Social Committee to plan different social events during the year which we have all enjoyed. Of course, with the outbreak of COVID virus, everyone has been unable t enjoy many social gatherings this past year.
I do acknowledge the need we have for some changes and look forward to seeing how our new Boards vision is developed for the betterment of our community. I believe we have an opportunity to improve our community and am grateful to those who are volunteering their time, efforts, and energy to address areas we can improve. I trust effort will be made to ensure our rules and regulations are followed regarding all matters which has been concerning to our owners when not followed.
Overall, obviously, having lived here all these years, I assure you it has been a privilege to live in this lovely community. I appreciate the many friendships of my neighbors and look forward to seeing our new Board's vision implemented for our future. It has been a trying year for everyone, so I am sending best wishes to all and thank you.
